Emergency Nurses Week: Honoring our ER Nurses
Nursing is a difficult career, and becoming an Emergency Room Nurse requires an incredible amount of strength, compassion and resilience. For ER Nurses Week from October 8th through the 14th, we are dedicated to recognizing the talented individuals who see it all. From splinters to trauma, ER nurses never know what will come through their doors. Whether it’s a young boy with an impacted splinter, or the devastation of a gunshot wound, these nurses step up to the plate no matter the situation!
We’ve decided to showcase a few KPG Emergency Room Nurses in Honor of ER Nurses Week! These amazing individuals truly embody the spirit and compassion of a nurse and we are so proud to say THANKS to them today!
Clare C. – ER RN
Why did you choose ER as your specialty?
One of the reasons I enjoy emergency medicine is because I like change. The variety and complexity of cases in the department is a continuum of change in the study of health and human science. Most emergency departments appear unorganized. However, there is an underlying structure in all units. Being a methodic, organized individual helps to keep me calm when situations seem chaotic.
What was your favorite moment on the floor?
Memorable moments on the floor are when I can make a difference in an older adult’s care. This vulnerable population requires extra time, patience, and education each time they come into contact with healthcare providers. For them, it is often the little things such as sitting with them to talk or speaking with a concerned out of state relative on the phone.
Why do you enjoy working for KPG?
Janice is one of the reasons I am with KPG. We stumbled upon each other, and it has worked out perfectly. Janice is responsive, attentive, and she knows and wants to continue to learn the travel business. She is an asset in my current travel nurse life!

Why did you choose ER as your specialty?
I chose ER as my specialty because I enjoy the fast paced and unpredictable environment. Also, people of the ER are a different breed, which I feel I fit in well and work the best with. Everyone works as a team and makes every day the best day!
What was your favorite moment on the floor?
My favorite moment on the floor was when we had a pediatric resuscitation and everyone came together and worked so well together. The circumstances were horrific but each person displayed so much emotion yet able to do their job proficiently – the rawness of the nurses, doctors, and entire team made it my favorite experience.
Why do you enjoy working for KPG?
I enjoy KPG because of my recruiter, Janice! She’s the best!
